Isnt updating

I have an iPhone 6s Plus and for some reason it just isnt updating . Seems to be stuck . Please sort out this problem. Another thing Id like to mention is , I like the app worked before where you could scroll down your entire whats app contact list .. now it isnt possible .. only regular and open chats can be seen ..
