Cant turn off constant access to contacts

It would be less intrusive feeling if you could let it scan your contacts once and then turn it off without it disabling your ability to keep the people listed after the initial scan. Also, the relentless requests to access my camera and microphone etc. if I say I dont want it on, why keep it asking??

I am a huge fan of end to end encryption but for that Wickr Me is far superior
